Manicure & Pedicure (incl gel polish Shellac )

The aim of this Nail Technician Course is to provide learners with the skills, knowledge and attitudes to perform manicure and pedicure treatments in a professional and safe manner, to a standard and in a timeframe which reflects industry standards. This nail technician course also covers Two Week Gel Polish  (Shellac) . The Nail Course runs over 6-8 weeks. Students must have good timings and good proficiency before accreditation can be awarded.

The module covers the skills involved in performing manicures and pedicures using a standard polish or a gel (shellac) polish. Course content:
Preparing yourself, client and work area for manicure or pedicure
Structure and function of the nail and the growth process
Contraindications Nail Diseases & Disorders
Knowledge of the muscles, cardiovascular system, blood vessels lympatic system of arm,hand,leg & foot
Hand & Foot massage
Nails shapes & Cutice work
Application of standard nail polish & gel polish (shellac)
Client Care Health & Safety 

Upon completion of the course you will be confident in assessing a clients needs  and performing the appropriate treatment with a recommendation of appropriate homecare. 
You will have successfully completed a multiple choice written paper and carried out formal assessments.
