Skin Care
This module covers the skills involved in providing facial and skincare treatments:
Preparing yourself, client and work area for facial skin care treatments
Consultation techniques
Carrying out facial analysis
Contraindications Skin Diseases & Disorders
Anatomy & Physiology of the Face
Providing recommendations to clients
Selecting correct product, tools, and equipment to suit client’s treatment needs, skin types and conditions
Record the results from treatments
Provide suitable aftercare advice
Health & Safety in the workplace
Waxing
This module covers the skills involved in removing hair from the face & body including bikini area.

Structure of the hair
Stages of hair growth
Different waxes

Selecting correct wax, tools, and equipment

Nails & Pedicures
This module covers the skills involved in performing manicures and pedicures using a standard polish or a gel (shellac) polish.

Structure and function of the nail and the growth process

Knowledge of the muscles, cardiovascular system, blood vessels lympatic system of arm,hand,leg & foot

EyeTreatments
This module covers the skills involved in performing eyecare treatments including waxing, threading, tintingand brow design.
Preparing yourself, client and work area for eye treatment
Use suitable consultation techniques to identify treatment objectives
Interpret and accurately record the results of tests carried out prior to treatments

The Beauty Specialst course is run part-time and learning timetables can be flexed to facilitate students who have other work or family commitments.
Students are taught theory in class and supplement this with home study. In order to achieve a level of proficiency in the practical application of the programme, students must carry out practicals in the Academy ...this element of the course can be flexed to suit availability.
Upon completion of the course you will be confident in assessing a clients needs and performing the appropriate treatment with a recommendation of appropriate homecare.
You will have successfully completed a multiple choice written paper and carried out formal assessments.
The course is normally completed over 6 months, however that is dependent on your own availability to attend Academy classes and carry out practicals in the Academy...a shorter or longer time frame can be achieved according to need.
The AIT programme is geared towards practical application. All students will be salon ready when they complete the course.
To secure a place we require €400 deposit. The remaining course fee is payable in monthly installments.

Student kits are not required as all products are provided in the Academy. Student may however purchase items at wholesale cost if desired.
